Core Control and Tummy Breathing Workshop

Many people develop a habit of chest (shallow) breathing, which overuses the neck, shoulder, and upper chest muscles. This can lead to extra tension in those areas and reduced activation of the diaphragm and deep core stabilisers.

By contrast, tummy (diaphragmatic) breathing engages the diaphragm so it can work with the deep abdominal and pelvic floor muscles to create internal pressure that supports the spine. This not only helps stabilise the lower back during movement and lifting but also promotes better rib and spinal mobility, improves posture, and can reduce strain-related back pain.
